And in our honesty, together we will rise,
Out of our nightminds, and into the light
What is a nightmind? Maybe the definition Missy Higgins intended will never be known. Maybe there is no exact definition. The way I see it, it's a dark place. It's a place where you are so engulfed in thoughts and worries that they cast a shadow over everything else going on around you. It may even cause you to grow hopeless or wary unnecessarily...Ahh, I just feel like I've been thinking way too much lately.
There is an unnecessary amount of apprehension building in me about going away to school. I feel like the excitement is still there but it's drowned in layers upon layers of worry. I worry about silly things and serious things. I just don't really even know how to feel anymore. I don't want uncertainty when I leave. All I can hope for is that things fall comfortably into place once I get to school and all my worries can just fade away steadily.
I think we spend a lot of time being excited about the future that we never spend a decent amount of time being appropriately worried, which is something that we need because EVERYONE worries about things that we can't predict or have no control of, like the future. And from there comes a lot of the uncertainty; it's normal. When we worry about one thing, we tend to worry about other things too, things that maybe we shouldn't even be thinking about. Right now, the reason that we're so apprehensive is because we're right on the cusp of big changes. But once we're past that point, the worry will be behind us and we'll just have the good stuff left. Don't worry; things are going to get better fsho fsho. ahknow ahknow [:
